Kahlenberg mountain is located at the northern edge of Vienna, in the beautiful and well-kept 19th district. It is an area of nature and landscapes, far from the bustling city center. This area is an ideal destination for a trip of several hours that includes nature, views, wine, and adrenaline. One of the popular attractions on Kahlenberg is the Vienna Rope Park (Waldseilpark). The park is part of the experiential attractions complex on Kahlenberg mountain (Erlebniswelt Kahlenberg).
In fact, the Vienna Rope Park is one of the largest in all of Austria! It has 17 courses in three different difficulty levels with about 150 different obstacles. Some of the rope courses are at a height of 20 meters, and their total length is 1.8 kilometers.
The courses in the park are suitable for adults and children, and even young children can enjoy a light and safe rope area. Of course, there are also beginner courses, so you don’t have to go on the most challenging ones.
The Most Popular Courses in the Rope Park:
- Dwarf Course: Located at a height of 35 centimeters and suitable for small children. Entry to this course is free of charge.
- Blue Courses (Easy Level): Located at a height of 7 meters. You can go on them if you are taller than 110 centimeters.
- Red Courses (Medium Level): Located at a height of 10 meters. You can go on them if you are taller than 130 centimeters.
- Black Courses (Hard Level): Located at a height of 20 meters. You can go on them if you are taller than 150 centimeters.

Other Attractions in the Kahlenberg Adventure Complex
The rope park is just one of several attractions in the experiential activities complex on Kahlenberg. If you want to continue spending time in this area, you can try the archery course, where life-sized plastic animals are scattered. You can also rent electric mountain bikes and go for a ride on the many off-road trails on the mountain.
Of course, if the rope park was enough for you, you can go up to the summit of Kahlenberg. There you can look out over Vienna and sit at the café next to the viewpoint for coffee and cake.
