Minimundus Park is located in the city of Klagenfurt, the capital of the state of Carinthia, not far from the city’s famous and beautiful lake – Lake Wörthersee.
On an area of 26,000 square meters, many models of wonderful buildings are displayed with exceptional accuracy. The park opened in 1958, and by 1967, it had already received over a million visitors! To date, about 15 million visitors from all over the world have visited the park, and it is actually considered the best miniature park in Europe today.
The park is owned by the charity organization “Rettet das Kind” (Save the Child), which helps children from broken homes and disadvantaged families. The proceeds from the park go to finance the activities of this organization.
The Models in Minimundus Park
The miniature buildings throughout the park are scaled-down replicas (most at a 1:25 ratio) of the original structures. They are impressively and incredibly accurate, and it is clear that they were made with great care from building materials identical to those of the original buildings. In fact, some models in the park required several years of work and over half a million euros to complete. For example, the model of St. Peter’s Basilica cost €730,000 and took 6 years to complete!
The park can be visited all year round. It is divided into a large outdoor park and an indoor area for cold and rainy days.
The Outdoor Park
The outdoor part of the park is the main area and contains most of the beautiful models. The paths are well-maintained, comfortable for walking, and surrounded by abundant vegetation – 15,000 flowers, 30 bonsai trees, and 40 palm trees.
The models are located along the paths, and each building has a short explanation in English. Among the famous buildings, you can see the Statue of Liberty, the Taj Mahal, the Sydney Opera House, the Vienna Giant Ferris Wheel, St. Peter’s Basilica, the Eiffel Tower, St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna, the White House, Hochosterwitz Castle, and more!
In addition, there is a playground for children with a variety of fun rides. The playground is open during the summer days.

Inside the park’s indoor building, a fun interactive experience awaits you. You can enjoy a 4D cinema, an experiential ride in a Mini Cooper, a caricature station where you can draw funny caricatures, a selfie station where you can take pictures against the backdrop of the world’s most beautiful places, interactive globes, and a giant slide. There is also a large restaurant that operates throughout the day.
The Children’s Trail – Embark on an Adventure Throughout the Park
As part of their visit to the park, children can go on a journey between continents. Along the park’s paths, there are scattered riddles, games, interesting facts, and puzzles related to the story “Around the World in 80 Days.” For a few hours, children can become explorers and investigate the stories of the most beautiful buildings on earth. To follow the trail, you need to follow the instructions in the booklet you receive at the entrance. You can also download the booklet in advance here.
After successfully completing the tasks, you can receive an explorer’s certificate from the park staff.
