Salzburg Cathedral | The Historic Salzburger Dom Guide

In the city of Salzburg, there are many churches, but there is no doubt that the most important among them is the Cathedral. This structure is impressive in its beauty, and it's hard not to see it standing out among the buildings of the Old Town. The building has two towers on its side and inside, a large and highly decorated prayer hall.

Although Salzburg Cathedral (Dom zu Salzburg) was originally constructed in the 12th century, it was completely rebuilt in the 17th century, taking on its present Baroque form. This is the most prominent style in the cathedral today, and it blends wonderfully with the other buildings of the Old Town. You can enter the cathedral throughout the day.

Opening Hours:

January, February, November: Monday to Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Sundays: 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
March – July, September, October: Monday to Saturday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Sundays and holidays: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
August: Monday to Saturday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Sundays and holidays: 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
No entry during prayer times.
From 11:40 AM to 12:30 PM, the ticket office is closed for a lunch break, and entry is not possible.

Guided Tour:
