Since the 19th century, Lake Fuschl (in German: Fuschlsee) has been a popular tourist destination due to its clear waters and the wonderful nature that surrounds it. In fact, the water in the lake is so good that it is considered clean enough to drink according to Austrian standards. Around the lake, there are wonderful natural beaches where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the water.
Several beautiful mountains surround the lake, and various hiking trails are marked on their peaks. For example, you can climb Mount Schober (a challenging climb) or take the trail to Mount Filbling. The second trail is easier, and on the way to the summit, you can stop at a small, hidden lake for a swim. From the top of the mountain, you can see the wonderful view and also look at the beautiful Fuschl Palace (Schloss Fuschl), which now serves as a luxury hotel and restaurant.
In addition, there are many golf courses around the lake area, so it is also ideal for golf lovers.
There is no doubt that the lake is more suitable for a romantic getaway. Most of the travelers in the village are quite mature, so don’t expect wild parties.
You can find a list of recommended hotels on the lake shore here. The service is provided by Booking.com.
