The Mozarthaus is a museum located in Mozart’s only apartment that has survived to this day, situated in the heart of Vienna’s Old City. The apartment has undergone renovation and restoration, offering visitors a glimpse into the residence of the famous musician. In addition to the apartment, the Mozarthaus Museum spans two floors filled with information about the musician. The exhibitions actually begin at the top, on the third floor, which presents details about Mozart’s lifestyle. Following this, the second floor features displays focusing primarily on Mozart’s operas.
The ground floor is the heart of the museum, where you can see the rooms where Mozart lived with his family. Mozart resided in this apartment for about two and a half years, from 1784 to 1787.

How to get to the Mozart Museum? The Mozarthaus is located just a short walk from St. Stephen’s Cathedral. You can reach it via the subway by taking lines U1 (Red Line) or U3 (Orange Line) to the Stephansplatz station. From there, walk around the cathedral and through the small streets of the Old City.
