A delicious and strictly kosher Viennese experience! A bakery with a traditional Austrian aroma and the best homemade foods.
Want to experience the delicacies of Vienna without any worries? To try the local menu without compromise? Step into Ohel Bakery and enjoy a selection of fresh pastries, desserts, dishes, and coffee in the best Viennese tradition. All food served is strictly kosher under the supervision of Rabbi Margulies.
The authentic Ohel shop is located on a small, quiet street in the heart of the Jewish Quarter, not far from the Hotel Stefanie, the Chabad House, and the “Lemehadrin” kosher supermarket. At “Ohel,” you’ll find a variety of especially delicious homemade foods. The place combines a bakery and patisserie with a pleasant café, offering the chance to try a kosher Viennese breakfast. In fact, this is the only place in Vienna where you can eat an authentic Viennese-style kosher breakfast.
In the bakery and patisserie, you can find the best pastries that Austrians love, such as Topfengolatsche, Schokoschnecke, Sachertorte, and of course, apple strudel, just like the ones served in Vienna’s historic coffee houses. All pastries are made on-site, with fresh-from-the-oven treats offered daily. Before Shabbat, you can buy fresh challah bread baked right there.
