The ski season in Austria is a real experience. The mountainous landscape and green slopes are replaced by snow-capped peaks and a huge number of excellent ski slopes. Hundreds of ski resorts are scattered throughout the country with a variety of activities for skiers of all levels. The skiing experience in Austria is considered one of the best in all of Europe! Definitely something you won’t want to miss!
When you come for a ski holiday, it is advisable to stay in accommodation at the ski resort itself or in an accessible place near the ski slopes. Sometimes there are free shuttles from nearby towns for visitors to the ski resorts, but you need to check this according to the ski resort you plan to be at.
It is important to remember that the winter tourist season in Austria is considered busier than the summer tourist season, and popular ski resorts can be extremely crowded during Austrian holiday times. For example: in the first two weeks of February, it is customary for Austrians to go on their annual family ski holiday. During this time, the crowds will be large and accommodation prices will be accordingly.
