The Concert House was built in 1913 in Vienna’s third district, right next to the first district and the city center. From its inception, the performances in this hall have been diverse, including not only classical music but also innovative musical styles. This desire to also present modern music distinguished this concert hall from the hall of the Vienna Music Society (Musikverein), which exclusively features classical music performances (read more about the best classical concerts in Vienna).
Inside the building, there are four main halls where concerts can be held simultaneously without any issue.
The halls are:
- The Great Hall – 1840 seats
- Mozart Hall – 704 seats
- Schubert Hall – 336 seats
- Berio Hall – 400 seats
You can take a virtual tour of the performance halls in the building for more information.
Orchestras and choirs that perform regularly at the venue: The Vienna Symphony, the Wiener Singakademie, and various other ensembles from around the world.
