This adventure park in northern Tyrol was established a decade ago on the Steinplatte mountain in the Waidring district. This area was once an ocean in ancient times, and a variety of ancient fossils from the dinosaur era have been found here.
To reach the park, you take a cable car to the mountain’s summit and begin an exciting journey in the footsteps of the dinosaurs. The visit starts at the large visitor center, which features replicas of prehistoric sea creatures and various displays of real dinosaur fossils.
Afterward, you’ll set out on the 4-kilometer-long dinosaur trail, where you’ll see different dinosaur figures and solve challenging puzzles. The trail is paved and suitable for strollers, so the whole family can enjoy it.
Another very fun part is the giant sandbox, also known as the Triassic Beach. Here, you can dig and search for fossils and treasures. And that’s not all—there’s also a small climbing wall, a ropes course, a 30-meter-long slide, and a small lake where you can splash your feet.
The wonderful addition to the park is, of course, the impressive mountain peak scenery! So you don’t miss the spectacular view, there is a beautiful and slightly scary viewing platform. The floor of the platform is partially transparent, allowing you to see the 70-meter-deep abyss gaping beneath you. Definitely not for those with a fear of heights!
