A Unique Christmas Tour – The Wachau Valley with a Guide

The Christmas season begins as early as November, during which Austria is adorned with sparkling holiday decorations and picturesque Christmas markets open up across the country. In the Wachau Valley, too, you can feel the approaching holiday spirit and be impressed by this romantic time of year.

The valley is a stunning natural spot in all seasons, but leading up to Christmas, it takes on a different hue and a unique atmosphere. So that you can experience this time of year in a special way, we are offering a limited-time Christmas edition tour where you can see the Wachau Valley from a different and interesting angle.

The day trip is accompanied by a local Hebrew-speaking guide with a private vehicle and includes a visit to a romantic Christmas market in a charming location from which you can get the best view of the Wachau Valley (many travelers don’t reach this viewpoint!). At the market, you can taste seasonal delicacies and drink the traditional mulled wine.

On the tour, you will visit the entire valley and stop at several selected locations, including:

The city of Krems
The valley’s Christmas market
An ancient castle complex perched on a cliff overlooking the entire valley
Melk Abbey and its surroundings

The cost of the tour includes:

Pickup from Vienna
A local Hebrew-speaking guide for the day
Entrance fees to the castle and the Christmas market
Transportation back to Vienna

Not included in the tour cost:

Food and drinks throughout the day

What’s important to bring:

Warm clothing: coat, hat, scarf, gloves, etc. (We will be outside some of the time, so you must be well-dressed)
Comfortable walking shoes
A camera!

The tour will take place on the following dates only:

November 9-10 (Saturday and Sunday)
November 15-17 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
November 22-24 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Important to remember: If for any reason you need to cancel the tour, you can do so with at least two days’ notice before the scheduled tour date.

Please note: The tour is subject to a minimum number of participants. The price list below details the costs for the day trip. If you do not want a private tour and there are other travelers interested in the tour on your chosen date, the price of the tour will decrease according to the number of participants. In any case, it is advisable to register to secure your spot.
