Lake Faak is located south of the city of Villach, a short distance from the Austrian border with Slovenia. If you are coming to Klagenfurt, you will only need to drive 30 minutes to reach the lake.
The town right on the shore of the lake is called Faak am See. Among the locals, it is known as the “Caribbean” of Austria because of the special color of the water. On hot summer days, the water temperature reaches up to 27 degrees Celsius, allowing for enjoyable swimming in the clear water.
If you love water sports, you can enjoy windsurfing, rafting, paddleboarding, boating in a small boat, and more. At the beginning of September, a huge gathering of Harley-Davidson lovers takes place right next to the lake. This is an event that is definitely interesting to see.
