Don’t worry! There are many more recommended places to stay in the Stubai Valley region. You can check out additional places in the popular villages of the valley:

1. Neustift im Stubaital

This small village is known in the Tyrol region especially for its proximity to the Stubai Glacier. It is a preferred place to stay for many travelers who come to ski on the snow in the area of the largest glacier in Austria. This area has about 109 mountain peaks over 3,000 meters. Check out recommended accommodation in Neustift on the Booking website.

2. Schönberg im Stubaital

This village is located at the foot of the high Serles mountain, only 10 kilometers from Innsbruck. The village is at an altitude of 1,013 meters and is essentially the place where the Wipptal Valley and the Stubai Valley merge. The village is at an important point along the trade route between north and south, and the main road leading to Italy passes nearby. This road passes over the beautiful and high Europe Bridge (a popular spot for bungee jumping). In the mountains adjacent to the village, there are a variety of hiking and cycling trails. A ski resort operates in the area during the winter. Check out recommended accommodation in Schönberg on the Booking website.

3. Mieders

This small village is also located at the foot of the Serles mountain, about 11 kilometers south of Innsbruck. The first settlers in the village area arrived during the Middle Ages and established a thriving mineral mining area. Because of this, you can still see beautiful and ancient buildings, including impressive ceiling paintings from the Baroque period, which serve as a reminder of the period of prosperity that the valley experienced. If you pass through this valley, it is worth stopping at the ancient water station of the village (Alte Mühle). There is also an open cable car from the village that quickly leads to the summit of Serles mountain at an altitude of 2,718 meters, allowing you to observe the area and enjoy the beautiful views.

A popular attraction in this village is the long mountain coaster (2.8 kilometers) that starts from the upper cable car station. You can slide back to the valley at high speed.

For nature lovers, you can hike to Blaser mountain, which is rich in diverse and impressive Alpine vegetation. During the winter months, ski slopes operate in the Serlesbahnen area or in the nearby Schlick 2000 complex. Check out recommended accommodation in Mieders on the Booking website.

4. Fulpmes

This small village became famous mainly because its residents speak a dialect that is different and unique from the rest of Austria. Only in this place can you hear the rolling “R” and completely realize that you have no idea what they are saying, apart from the unique dialect of the residents. Another attraction is the ancient electric train that connects the village to Innsbruck. This train has been operating for about 100 years (of course, it has been renovated since its establishment). The famous ski jumper Gregor Schlierenzauer was born in this village. Check out recommended accommodation in Fulpmes on the Booking website.
