If you’re coming for a short trip and plan to spend most of your day exploring the city rather than in your hotel, you probably don’t need to invest in a hotel right in the heart of the old town or a luxury one. In this article, we’ve compiled a list of comfortable and pleasant hotels located throughout the city, suitable for those who want to travel in Vienna on a low budget. While most of the hotels on this list aren’t right in the center of the action, they are in locations with excellent public transport access, so you can get to all the city’s major attractions quickly and easily. This list of cheap hotels in Vienna will help you enjoy your trip to the city without breaking the bank.

The districts where you can find more affordably priced hotels that are not too far from the center are: District 3, District 4, Districts 15 and 16 (these districts have more immigrants), District 2 (in the Prater park area), and District 10 (in the modern area near the central station, not in the heart of the immigrant areas of this district). There are a few rare gems that are very close to the old city and still offer particularly attractive prices; these hotels will appear in the list below.

In this list, we have selected recommended and affordable hotels from these districts, so you can be in a good location at a great, low price. These hotels are mostly three-star hotels. Of course, prices vary depending on the season and demand, so you might find even cheaper hotels in the comprehensive accommodation list linked below. Click on the hotel name for more information and photos on booking.com.

For those who don’t want to delve into the description of each hotel, here is the list of recommended budget hotels. Below the list, we’ve added details and a photo for each hotel:
