The Wildkogel Arena nature and amusement area is located at the western end of the Salzburgerland region, not far from the powerful Krimml Waterfalls and the popular tourist area of Zell am See–Kaprun. The Wildkogel mountain rises to a height of 2,224 meters above sea level, offering a most spectacular view of huge peaks that rise above 3,000 meters. To reach the various attractions, you need to take a cable car (or walk for several hours). The attractions are located partly at the mountain’s middle station or at its summit. You can go up to the summit to admire the view and then descend via the panoramic trail that connects the top station to the middle station. The Slide Trail: 10 Slides, 100% Fun for the Whole Family!
From May to October, you can enjoy the unique Slide Trail (Rutschenweg), which starts at the middle station of the Wildkogelbahn cable car. The trail is perfectly suited for a family outing! This unique path turns a hiking day in the Salzburg mountains into an unforgettable experience with ten especially fun slides.
Besides the slides, the breathtaking panoramic view at Wildkogel adds to the wonderful experience. You can enjoy the amazing sights of the snow-capped peaks of the Hohe Tauern National Park, rising to three thousand meters, including the highest peak in the Salzburgerland region – the Grossvenediger, which stands at 3,657 meters.

What can you expect on the slide trail?
- 10 fast and winding slides: The slides range in length from 22 to 53 meters and are scattered along the trail leading to the Gasthof Stockenbaum. Each slide is a special experience and will provide you with moments of action and excitement.
- Slide mats: You can slide on a sort of mat/carpet to enhance the sliding experience.
- Free-fall slide: For the brave only, this slide is a must for adrenaline lovers.
How to get to the start of the 10-slide trail?
The starting point, the middle station of the Wildkogelbahn cable car, is easily accessible by cable car. If you prefer to hike, you can reach the middle station via the marked hiking trails.
Ways to return to the parking lot:
After you complete the slide trail, you can return to the center of Neukirchen comfortably by bus or on foot via the Adler Toni Trail, which is 1.1 km long and includes nine fascinating adventure stations.

New from Summer 2025: The Eagle Toni Trail (Adler Toni Weg)
The Adler Toni Trail, about 1.1 km long, connects the popular slide trail with the center of the village of Neukirchen and is perfect for families, hikers, and nature lovers.
The Adler Toni adventure trail perfectly combines hiking, play, and nature experiences. Children can run and play to their heart’s content while you enjoy the breathtaking views. In addition, everyone learns something new about the local flora and fauna.

The Downhill Go-Kart Track: Fun and Adrenaline Guaranteed!
Once you reach the summit, the adventure continues right next to the top cable car station! The winding go-kart track promises a particularly exciting summer experience. Sit on one of the three-wheeled, all-terrain go-karts and speed 4 km down the mountain to the middle station (1624 m). This is an adrenaline-filled experience, and if you follow the safety instructions, it’s also extremely fun!

With over 75 mountain go-karts in four different sizes, waiting times are minimal, even on busy days.
The track is open during the operating hours of the Smaragdbahn cable car (June 27 – September 14, 2025) until 4:00 PM.
Important to know:
- Wearing a helmet is mandatory; helmet rental is included in the price.
- Minimum age: 4 years.
- Children between 4 and 9 years old can ride accompanied by an adult.
- From the age of 10 and a minimum height of 150 cm, children are allowed to drive a go-kart themselves, accompanied by a responsible adult.
- Child rates apply to ages 6 to 14 (ID with date of birth required!).
The Kogel-Mogel Adventure Playground
A diverse and particularly fun playground right next to the top station of the Wildkogelbahn!
The Kogel-Mogel play area offers guests, both young and old, a play experience at an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level. In this area, you can tackle challenging balance courses, climb to the top of the climbing tower, reach freely swinging bird’s nests via a climbing net, and jump to the sky on a trampoline.
The Kogel-Mogel playground will keep children busy for hours with countless wooden attractions on a total area of 10,000 m². If you want to rest while the children play, you can watch them at all times from the restaurant located right next door.

- Ninja course – jump from disc to disc, balance beam, swinging steps
- Kogel-Mogel climbing tower with a slide
- Eagle’s nest – swinging climbing nets and bird’s nests

Cable Cars to the Attractions and Hiking Trails
There are two cable cars leading to two separate areas of the Wildkogel summit. The first cable car is called Wildkogelbahn and it departs from the village of Neukirchen. The 10-slide trail starts at the middle station of this cable car. The second cable car is called Smaragdbahn and it departs from the village of Bramberg. The experiential go-kart track starts at the top station of this cable car.
Cable Car Operating Times:
- Wildkogelbahn – from the end of May to the end of September. In October, it is open only if the weather permits. From 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Smaragdbahn – from the end of June to mid-September. From 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
