The ZOOM Children's Museum in the heart of Vienna's Museum Quarter is an excellent attraction, especially for rainy days in the city! The museum offers a variety of activities and exhibits that allow children to experience art in an active way. Highly recommended!

The large children’s museum is located in the heart of the MuseumsQuarter and offers a variety of interactive and enjoyable displays. The idea of the museum is to get children to explore, touch, ask questions, and play, and while doing so, learn about various topics such as the world of water, art, and more. The activities in the museum are diverse and require the activation of all the senses. It is definitely an experience. The museum has various activities for children from the age of 8 months up to 14.

Activities at the ZOOM Museum

1. ZOOM Ocean (for Children Aged 8 Months to 6 Years)

An educational play area themed around the underwater world. The site includes a mirror maze, coral beds, the ship Famosa, and more. Children can serve as part of the ship’s crew—fishing, navigating the vessel, or communicating with the lighthouse team.

Duration of Activity: One hour

Activity Times (February to September):

Activity for toddlers (8 months to 3 years): Tuesday to Friday at 11:30.
Activity for toddlers and children (8 months to 6 years): Tuesday to Friday at 9:00, 10:15, 13:30, 14:45, and 16:00. Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays at 10:00, 11:15, 12:30, 14:45, and 16:00.
Older children: Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays at 17:15.

2. Art Studio Activity (for Children Aged 3–12)

This activity exposes children to the professional world of art. They can create, color, and paint together with artists in their studio room. The children will be able to experiment with artistic methods and special painting materials. The children can paint, cut, build, spray, glue, and essentially try many things that they cannot experience on a normal day.

Duration of Activity: One and a half hours

Activity Times: Tuesday to Friday: 13:45, 15:45 Sundays and holidays: 10:15, 12:15, 14:45, 16:45

3. ZOOM Animation Studio Activity (for Children Aged 8 to 14)

In the animation studio, children (and teenagers) can step into the shoes of screenwriters, editors, photographers, and sound technicians. Using innovative technologies, they can create their own animations as well as unique songs.

Duration of Activity: One and a half hours

Activity Times: Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays: 14:30, 16:30
